The programme

A day in the High Atlas to Imlil, a Berber village over 1,700 m up, at the foot of Toubkal (4,167 m). The road runs through Asni, then climbs the valley: walnut, apple and cherry trees, and Berber villages clinging to the slopes. On site, wander the valley at your own pace, with an optional walk up to the village of Aroumd. Pickup at your accommodation; and when you choose to go private, it's your vehicle, your pace.

  • Views of the Toubkal massif (4,167 m), North Africa's highest peak
  • A valley of orchards: walnut, apple and cherry trees
  • Optional walk up to Aroumd, a Berber village perched at 1,900 m
  • Through Asni, a High Atlas market town (souk on Saturdays)
  • Lunch in the village (à la carte, not included)

Included

  • Return transport from your accommodation
  • Professional driver

Paid on site

Good to know

  • About 1h30 drive each way depending on traffic
  • Mountain trail: closed shoes recommended; it is cooler than in Marrakech, and winter can bring snow
  • Toubkal cannot be climbed in a day: the ascent takes at least a two-day trek from Imlil
  • Runs in all weather except storms — free rescheduling up to 24 h before
  • Transport included; lunch and on-site spending paid locally
