The grand tour: the Kasbah and its Saadian treasures in the morning, the palaces and the Mellah at midday, then a taxi to the Majorelle Garden and Guéliz in the afternoon — the striking contrast between the old city and the new.

   Bab Agnaou

   ≈10 min

   The most beautiful gate in Marrakech (12th century), carved from blue Atlas stone. It marks the entrance to the Kasbah, the royal quarter — the Saadian Tombs are just behind.

   Saadian Tombs

   ≈30 min

   The royal necropolis of the Saadian dynasty, walled up for two centuries and rediscovered in 1917. The Hall of Twelve Columns, in Carrara marble and gilded cedar, is a jewel. A compact site: the visit is short but memorable.

   El Badi Palace

   ≈45 min

   The majestic ruins of Sultan Ahmed al-Mansour's 16th-century palace, once called "the incomparable". Vast esplanades, sunken pools, walls inhabited by storks — and a superb view from the ramparts.

   Place des Ferblantiers

   ≈15 min

   A small square in the southern medina where metalworkers hammer lanterns and lamps by hand. The gateway to the Mellah (the old Jewish quarter) and to El Badi Palace.

   Bahia Palace

   ≈50 min

   A 19th-century palace of 150 rooms, marble courtyards and painted ceilings. Built to be the greatest palace of its time — its name means "the brilliant". A must-see in the southern medina, steps from the Mellah.

   Jemaa el-Fna square

   ≈60 min

   The beating heart of Marrakech, UNESCO-listed. Quiet in the morning, the square transforms at sunset: storytellers, Gnaoua musicians, orange-juice stalls and open-air food stands. It is your central landmark — every souk entrance leads back here.

   💡 Lunch and a break — then a taxi to Majorelle from the Koutoubia (a 10-15 min ride).

   Majorelle Garden

   ≈90 min

   The blue garden of painter Jacques Majorelle, saved by Yves Saint Laurent — giant cacti, bamboo and the famous Majorelle blue. Outside the medina, on the Guéliz side: get there by taxi. Very popular — go early in the morning.
