October is one of the easiest months to sell Marrakech to a family: the summer heat has broken, the medina is comfortable on foot again, and a short-haul flight covers a half-term week or an autumn break. If that's your plan, the logistics are predictable: children, luggage for a week or two, and a landing time that isn't always convenient.
School half-term dates vary by school and local authority, so this guide doesn't list any: check your own. It doesn't quote airport crowd figures either, because we don't have reliable ones and we don't publish what we haven't measured. It covers what you can settle from home: when to book the transfer, how the six-passenger rule works for families, the round trip, and a time-zone trap that is new this year.
The essentials in 30 seconds
Book your Marrakech airport transfer at the same time as your flights: €15 one way, €27 round trip, priced per vehicle for up to 6 passengers, paid online. 7 to 12 means two vehicles, 13 to 18 three. Morocco switched to GMT in September and UK and EU clocks go back on 25 October, so always enter Moroccan local time.
This year's trap: Moroccan time has changed
Since 20 September 2026, Morocco has dropped the permanent GMT+1 it had used since 2018 and now runs on GMT all year round. Meanwhile, the UK, Ireland and the EU put their clocks back overnight on Saturday 24 to Sunday 25 October. Depending on where you fly from, the gap with Marrakech shifts on 25 October, which may fall during your trip.
| Flying from | Gap until 25 October | Gap from 25 October |
|---|---|---|
| UK and Ireland | Marrakech is 1 h behind | Same time |
| France, mainland Spain, Benelux, Germany, Italy (CET) | Marrakech is 2 h behind | Marrakech is 1 h behind |
If you've visited Morocco in autumn before, forget your old reference points. The trap isn't the flight itself, since airlines always print times in the local time of the airport concerned. It's everything you work out yourself: the pickup time for your return transfer, the check-out you agreed with the riad, the reminder set on a phone still running on home time.
The rule that prevents the mistake
On your transfer booking, the time you enter is always Moroccan local time. Copy the time printed on your ticket for Marrakech airport, never convert it. And check the latest schedule in your airline account a few days before you fly.
Why book before you fly, not on arrival
Walk out of Marrakech-Menara Airport with nothing booked and you have three options: the official Kech Cab taxi kiosk, the taxi rank, or the drivers who come to you. Our drivers documented that scenario across 30 rides, from 5 June to 4 July 2026: touts were present on 100% (30/30 rides), the opening price asked by street taxis had a median of 300 MAD, and the wait at the official taxi rank had a median of 40 min.
Those figures are from summer. We have no autumn-specific measurement and don't claim they carry over unchanged. What they describe is what awaits anyone who arrives with nothing booked: a negotiation after several hours of travel, with tired children and a pile of bags. It's the worst possible position from which to discuss a price, and it's exactly the one a pre-booked transfer removes.
| Option | Price | Bookable before you fly | With kids and luggage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Street taxi, negotiated on the spot | Observed opening price: 300 MAD median (summer 2026) | No | Negotiation on arrival, no choice of vehicle |
| Official Kech Cab kiosk | Price posted at the kiosk | No | More regulated, but there may be a queue |
| Bus no. 19 | The cheapest option | No | Not built for a family's luggage or a car-free medina |
| Pre-booked transfer (Get Me!) | €15 one way, €27 round trip, per vehicle | Yes, paid online | Up to 6 passengers, driver assigned, price set before you fly |
Families: the six-passenger rule
A Get Me! transfer is priced per vehicle, not per person. One vehicle carries up to 6 passengers: whether you're 2, 4 or 6, one way costs €15 and the round trip €27. From 7 to 12 passengers, the booking automatically switches to two vehicles, from 13 to 18 to three, and the price follows.
| Passengers | Vehicles | One way | Round trip |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 6 | 1 | €15 | €27 |
| 7 to 12 | 2 | €30 | €54 |
| 13 to 18 | 3 | €45 | €81 |
- Count everyone, toddlers included, when you enter the number of passengers.
- Flag the amount of luggage and the pushchair in the special requests field: a family holiday isn't a weekend bag.
- Need a child seat? Ask for it in the same field when you book, with the child's age, and wait for confirmation before treating it as sorted.
- With 7 or more, give one address and one meeting point for the whole group.
If your riad is in the medina, the vehicle stops at the nearest point a car can reach: many riads are only accessible on foot. Before you travel, ask the riad whether someone can come and help carry the bags to the door. It's common practice, but you still have to ask.

Settle the transfer when you book the flights
€15 one way, €27 round trip, per vehicle for up to 6 passengers. Price fixed and paid online at booking, no holiday surcharge.
Book my transferThe round trip: book both legs at once
For a holiday, the €27 round trip is the obvious format: €3 less than two one-way rides, and above all your return sorted from day one. The two legs don't have the same flexibility, and that's by design.
- The outbound leg (your arrival) can no longer be edited 24 hours before pickup, giving the driver time to organise.
- The return leg stays editable up to 12 hours before: time, pickup address, flight number. Useful if you switch riads mid-trip or the airline moves your flight.
- Cancellation is free and refunded up to 24 hours before the first pickup.
- You can book as late as 6 hours before pickup, but waiting gains you nothing: the price is fixed and doesn't drop as the date approaches.
Night arrivals, dawn departures
Holiday flights don't always land at convenient hours. The price doesn't move: €15 at 2am, same as at noon, with no night surcharge. What changes is the value of a driver who is already waiting: in the middle of the night, with sleeping children, the last thing you want is to hunt for a taxi. Add your flight number when you book: if you're delayed, that's what lets the driver time his arrival to your actual landing.
On the way home, two scenarios need specific planning: the early-morning flight, when the city is still asleep and the riad can't arrange anything, and the evening flight after a midday check-out. The logic is the same in both cases: set the pickup time and place in advance rather than improvising on the day.

Flying home before dawn?
Medina riad, sleeping city, few taxis: our early-departure guide covers the night-before checklist and how to work out your pickup time.
Read the early-flight guideThe right booking timeline
- As soon as you buy your flights: book the round trip, with both flight numbers. That's when you have every detail in front of you.
- A week before departure: check the latest flight times in your airline account, your riad's exact address and the passenger count.
- The day before you fly: note the arrival meeting point and keep your phone charged to reach the driver.
- During your stay, if you fly home after 25 October: re-check your pickup time in Moroccan local time, now that UK and EU clocks have gone back.
- The day before you fly home, no later than 12 hours before pickup: last chance to adjust the time or address of your return leg.
FAQ
Does the transfer cost more during school holidays?
No. A Get Me! transfer costs €15 one way and €27 round trip, per vehicle for up to 6 passengers, whatever the date or time. There's no holiday surcharge, no night surcharge and no luggage surcharge. The price is fixed and paid online when you book, so there's nothing to negotiate when you land.
We're a family of seven: what should we do?
From 7 passengers, the booking automatically switches to two vehicles: €30 one way, €54 round trip. Enter the exact number of passengers, children included, a single pickup address, and describe the amount of luggage in the special requests field so the group and its bags travel comfortably.
How far in advance should I book?
Technically, up to 6 hours before pickup. But waiting gains you nothing: the price is fixed and doesn't go down. For holiday dates, the simplest approach is to book at the same time as your flights. The return leg stays editable up to 12 hours before, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the first pickup.
Which time should I enter on my booking, given the clock changes?
Always Moroccan local time, the one printed on your ticket for Marrakech airport. Morocco has run on GMT all year since 20 September 2026, while the UK and the EU put their clocks back on 25 October. From the UK, Marrakech goes from 1 hour behind to the same time on 25 October. Never convert the time yourself.
The takeaway
An October trip to Marrakech has one quirk this year: the clocks move twice, Morocco's in September and the UK's and EU's on 25 October. Nothing dramatic, as long as you leave nothing to improvisation. The airport transfer is the easiest part of the trip to lock in ahead, and the one you most regret improvising at midnight, with two children and four suitcases at the airport exit. Book it with the flights, both legs at once, in Moroccan time. The rest of the trip will feel lighter for it.
