Travelling to Marrakech with family raises questions a solo trip doesn't: does the toddler need a car seat, how many suitcases fit in one car, and what happens when there are eight or nine of you once the grandparents are counted in? None of this is complicated, but none of it is automatic either — it gets sorted at booking, not on the airport curb.
This guide answers the three practical questions families ask before booking their Marrakech-Menara (RAK) airport transfer: how to request a child seat, how to describe luggage, and at what passenger count the booking moves to more than one vehicle.
The essentials in 30 seconds
Price follows the number of passengers, not the number of children: up to 6 people, one vehicle (€15/€27 round trip); 7 to 12, two vehicles (€30/€54) aligned on the same slot. Baby and child seats are requested free of charge at booking, with the child's age, then wait for confirmation. Luggage carries no surcharge if you describe it in advance.
The principle: price follows passengers, not children
At getme, a transfer is priced per vehicle, not per person. A child counts as a passenger from age 2 to 12, as soon as they take up a seat. One vehicle carries up to 6 passengers, infants included: at that count, the price doesn't change whether you're two adults or two adults plus four children.
Past 6 people, the booking automatically switches to more vehicles, and the price follows the same simple logic: a multiple of the base fare for each vehicle needed.
| Passengers | Vehicles | One way | Round trip |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 6 | 1 | €15 | €27 |
| 7 to 12 | 2 | €30 | €54 |
| 13 to 18 | 3 | €45 | €81 |
| 19 to 24 | 4 | €60 | €108 |
| 25 to 30 | 5 | €75 | €135 |
| Over 30 | custom quote | — | — |
Past 30 passengers, the automatic pricing stops: you need to contact us directly for a custom quote rather than booking through the online flow. In practice that mostly concerns very large groups — weddings, school trips — rarely a family, even one spanning three generations.
Child seats: how to request them correctly
Two kinds of equipment exist, both free, to specify at booking (in the options step, or in the special request field if you book before knowing the details): a baby seat for infants under 13 kg, and a child seat for children between 9 and 36 kg. Between those weights, depending on the child's size, either one may fit — give the exact age, not just "child", so the right model gets prepared.
A request, not an automatic tick-box
Ticking the option doesn't by itself guarantee the exact model: once the request is sent, wait for confirmation before treating it as settled, especially if you need two different seats — a baby seat and a bigger child seat, for instance.
This is a clear advantage of a pre-booked transfer over a street taxi hailed on arrival: official taxis almost never carry a child seat, and there's no way to book one ahead of time with them. With a prepaid transfer, the request goes out before you've even landed.
Luggage and pushchairs: what to flag
A standard vehicle takes up to 6 large suitcases for 4 to 6 passengers — plenty for a family packing for two weeks, pushchair included. The price stays fixed whether you're carrying two backpacks or six big suitcases: we apply no surcharge based on luggage volume.
To let the driver plan the space needed, describe what you're bringing in the special request field at booking: number and size of suitcases, whether the pushchair folds, any specific gear (wheelchair, sports equipment). These details prevent any surprise when loading up, especially with a group that already fills the vehicle with people.
The "oversized luggage" trap
On the street-taxi side, an improvised luggage surcharge remains a classic at Marrakech airport: according to our driver observations, it affects 10% (3/30) of the rides observed, with a driver demanding an "oversized luggage" surcharge with no pricing basis whatsoever (source: Get Me! driver observations, N=30 rides, 5 June – 4 July 2026). With a price fixed and prepaid before the flight, the question simply doesn't come up.
Groups of 7 and up: how it's organised
From 7 passengers up, whether that's two families travelling together or three generations reunited for the holidays, the booking moves to two vehicles. The key thing to flag at booking: a single pickup address and, if possible, a single reference flight number. That lets us align both drivers on the same slot, so the whole group arrives together at the same spot, instead of half the family waiting on the curb for the other half.
If the group lands on two different flights, it's better to make two separate bookings, one per flight: a booking fixes a single pickup time, and a delayed flight shouldn't make everyone wait, including those who landed on schedule.
A big street taxi for the group
Price negotiated on the spot→ Manageable for two adults with no luggage. Risky once the group grows.
⭐ Pre-booked private transfer for the group
€15/€27 per vehicle — custom quote above 30 passengers→ The only option that guarantees a child seat, enough capacity, and a fixed price for the whole group at once.
Booking ahead: the window and the flexibility
Bookings open up to 6 months before pickup, giving you time to lock in the transfer as soon as you buy your flights — a welcome comfort for a family trip whose dates are often set well in advance. The outbound leg locks 24 hours before pickup, to give the driver time to organise; the return leg stays editable up to 12 hours before, handy if the week's plans shift. Cancellation stays free up to 24 hours before the first pickup.
A concrete example
A family of nine: two parents, two grandparents, and five children including an 8-month-old baby. Nine passengers push the booking to two vehicles (€30 one way, €54 round trip). At booking, the family flags: a baby seat for the youngest, a child seat for the 4-year-old, six suitcases and a folding pushchair in the special request field, and a single flight number since everyone arrives together. Both drivers show up at the same slot, at the same arrival address, with the right equipment already confirmed.

Book my transferFAQ
Is a child seat an extra cost?
No, it's a free option to request at booking: a baby seat for under 13 kg, a child seat for 9 to 36 kg. Give the child's exact age and wait for confirmation before treating it as settled, especially if you need more than one different seat.
How much luggage fits in one vehicle?
Up to 6 large suitcases for 4 to 6 passengers, pushchair included if it folds. Describe the details in the special request field at booking. The price stays fixed regardless of luggage volume, no surcharge applies.
We're 9 people, how does that work?
9 passengers automatically push the booking to two vehicles: €30 one way, €54 round trip. Give a single pickup address and, if possible, a single flight number — both drivers are aligned on the same slot so the group arrives together.
What if we're more than 30 people?
Past 30 passengers, the automatic online pricing stops. You need to contact us directly for a custom quote rather than booking through the standard flow.
How far ahead can I book or change a family transfer?
Booking is open up to 6 months before pickup, and at least 6 hours before departure. The return leg stays editable up to 12 hours before, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the first pickup.
The takeaway
A family trip to Marrakech is no harder than a solo one, as long as the right details go in at the right time: children's ages for the seats, luggage details for the space, the exact passenger count for the vehicles. None of it gets negotiated in the arrivals hall, and that's exactly the point — it's all settled before you even land.
